Read about our choir
The Bells of Joyful Sound handbell choir has been entertaining audiences around the greater Salt Lake area since 1997. As Utah's premier adult community handbell choir, they are in high demand as feature performers for community events and have shared the stage with other professional artists including Salt Lake Choral Artists, Draper Philharmonic & Choral Society, and GENTRI. They have also recorded for theatrical sound tracks and Christmas albums for professional groups. With their diverse repertoire of music, they are able to provide fabulous entertainment for many occasions such as business, family, and church parties; community events; or other social gatherings. They perform on five octaves of Malmark handbells and five octaves of chimes. They are under the direction of Kaysville resident, Mary Moffett, with C.J. Leoncini, from West Jordan, serving as the assistant director. The current members of the Bells of Joyful Sound live and work all along the Wasatch Front, but come together one night a week in rehearsal dedicated to creating beautiful music to share with the community.
While Christmas is, of course, their busiest time of year, the Bells of Joyful Sound is a year-round choir that also prepares a fabulous spring repertoire to perform at various venues around the greater Salt Lake area. In addition, they offer two Bells of Joyful Sound concerts each year for the public in the Salt Lake City area.
If you would like to bring the Bells of Joyful Sound to your event, contact Mary Moffett at BOJS@comcast.net or 801-510-6105 to schedule a performance.
